In my 50th year, I write this blog, hoping to spark excitement in at least one person. For most of my 50 years, I earned income to pay bills in whatever means were available at the time - I'm fairly intelligent so can take on just about any work. The result? Bills paid, children fed and resume now looks like a shopping list for WalMart.
Now, I finally have the courage to do what I love, charge folks for my services and feel good about it all. Why did it take so long??
Fear.
Fear of being bold, fear of lack, fear of succeeding.
What is holding you back? Do you know what work would resonate with you? Have you ever taken time to just be in your own space, dreaming of what and ideal day looks like? Maybe it's time.
The transition takes time - once you know what you love, you then need to fine tune the offering, monetize it and build a clientele. Perhaps keeping your current "job" til then. I'll be honest, all that helpd you back will keep pulling and the process can be stressful - are you willing to put in the work and struggle to come out the other end arriving at a life that resonates beautifully?
There are many resources to use to find your ideal work - The Passion Test, What Color Is Your Parachute, and many more. I personally redo my Passion Test annually if not more often, creating my own affirmations.
Am I exactly where I want to be? Closer, but not quite yet - I still take on admin contacts and ad hoc jobs to pay bills, fix the house etc. Always being reminded that I love my business and want to focus more there.
Do yourself a favor, find your passion and well, do that!!
